Crohn's Disease
This was a young woman with pretty severe Crohn's and had taken pharmaceutical medications for the past 4 years that she had discontinued on her own just prior to seeing me. She was doing Remicade infusions every 8 weeks and had recurring abscesses related to the inflammation. We did comprehensive testing including a stool analysis and found pathogenic bacteria in her gut called Campylobacter spp. We started herbal treatments right away. In 6 weeks, she felt much better and in 3 months, her colonoscopy had cleared and her medical doctor told her that she was in medical remission. When the patient told her that she hadn't taken her medication for over 6 months and that she used natural treatments, the MD didn't believe her and had told her that she wasn't thinking right due to the anesthesia wearing off from the colonoscopy procedure and that the other doctor should get a Nobel Prize if it was in fact true.
